Turbocharging democracy to protect bank customers!!
As in many things, there is a change in Aussie democracy. Traditionally the government ran the show and the people could like it or lump it. Today the people run the show. That is to say, those who get involved do. The others still like it or lump it. Bank customers need to grasp the advantage it gives them.
Tradition
Traditionally we individual Aussies formed associations and joined organisations, then relied on them alone to represent us in discussions with government. Some were community associations, others business associations and still others farming associations. We voters did not individually have much power at all. That suited the government. That has changed with Votergrams.
Banks and Big Businesses Monopolies
For a long time the moneylending banks and big business monopolies have controlled government by bribing our elected MPs with election donations and bullying them with highly paid lobbyists.
That has resulted in a huge amount of suffering by Australians under the thumb of Big banks courtesy of our parliament and the government bodies charged with, but failing to, protect us. That in turn led us to develop FairGO and GBAC to tackle bank dishonesty. Combined with Votergrams this produced sensational results for Aussies trapped in unaffordable bank loans or difficult debt situations.
Voter involvement frees the MPs from this Big Business Bondage and allows them to work for us as intended. We need very good banking services now and if banks are going to do it all online, borrowers have a tool for that called Borrow Better. It allows those on-farm looking for loans to avoid the traditional mortgage brokers who are paid a huge commission to deliver borrowers to the bank. For a small fee borrowers can invite banks to lend them how ever much they want and then have the banks compete to see which bank will give them the best deal. It works a bit like farmers selling livestock at the saleyards. In effect the farm borrowers are selling their loan business to the bankers who put in the best bid.
Democracy is the best system of government in the world, but only when driven by the voters to fulfil its potential. Government for the people comes from government by the people via their parliament.
Fair crack of the whip
Today it is the borrowers, not the bankers, who can crack the whip and that makes a big difference
GBAC is for borrowers what a stockwhip is for a farmer.
If you have a serious beef about a bank send it to BankWatch so it can be raised with MPs. That is the way to get better banking.
